This Halloween, Swanage Railway takes a darker turn.

Steam & Screams is our after-dark Halloween experience for ages 14+, featuring live actors, jump scares, atmospheric scenes and an onboard licensed bar.

Step aboard and take your seat for a journey through the Purbeck countryside – but don't expect an ordinary train ride.

As your journey continues into the darkness, the familiar railway begins to change. Lights flicker. Footsteps echo along empty platforms. Strange figures appear in the shadows and voices from Purbeck's past begin to make themselves heard.

Throughout the journey, you'll encounter characters and stories inspired by the darker side of local history – from betrayal and piracy to war, heartbreak and death.

You might find yourself accused of betraying Corfe Castle by Lady Mary Bankes, confronted by a soldier still haunted by the trenches, or face an encounter with one of Purbeck's notorious pirates.

And somewhere in the darkness, a heartbroken Victorian lady is still searching for the man who promised to return to Swanage but never came.

Every stop brings another encounter. Every shadow could be hiding something. And just when you think you're safe, the whistle sounds and your journey continues...

So keep your friends close.
