Step back in time as Swanage Railway hosts its first-ever Home Front Weekend, bringing the sights, sounds and spirit of the 1940s to the Purbeck line.

For one special weekend, our heritage railway will provide the perfect backdrop for a journey into wartime Britain. Expect period displays, vintage vehicles, live entertainment, re-enactors and plenty of opportunities to discover what everyday life was like on the Home Front.

Travel by steam train through the beautiful Purbeck countryside, meet characters from the era and explore stations transformed with a distinctly 1940s feel. From military and civilian life to music, fashion and the remarkable stories of ordinary people, there will be something to discover around every corner.
