Track Operative

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours/week (occasional evenings/weekends required)

Swanage Railway is seeking a Track Operative to help maintain our heritage railway’s Permanent Way to a high standard. This hands-on role involves physical outdoor work including rail fixing, sleeper replacement, vegetation management, and drainage.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a civil engineering or similar manual outdoor environment
- Good teamwork, communication skills, and a “can-do” attitude
- Flexibility to work varied hours and locations
- A full driving licence
Desirable: Experience with hand tools/small plant and work in a Permanent Way environment.
