TRAIN SERVICES RESUME ON THE 5TH DECEMBER

Following the announcement from the Government that Dorset Council and the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council areas will be placed in Tier Two from Wednesday, 2 December, 2020, the Swanage Railway can confirm that its Steam and Lights as well as its Christmas Luncheon train services - scheduled to operate from Saturday, 5 December, 2020 - will operate as planned.

Will the railway still be running train services under Tier Two restrictions?

Yes, the railway will operating its planned services, including Steam and Lights, Christmas Luncheon train services.

The Government restrictions for Tier Two state:

  • Businesses and venues can continue to operate, in a COVID-Secure manner, other than those which remain closed by law, such as nightclubs.
If we live in separate households can we still travel?

The Government restrictions for Tier Two state:

  • You must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place.

If we live in a Tier Three area, can we still visit the railway?

The Government restrictions for Tier Three state:

  • Avoid travelling to other parts of the UK, including for overnight stays other than where necessary, such as for work, education, youth services, to receive medical treatment, or because of caring responsibilities
