As your journey continues deeper into the darkness, the familiar railway you thought you knew begins to change.
The lights flicker.
The temperature drops.
And somewhere beyond the windows, something is moving through the night.
Throughout your journey, shadows move where they shouldn't. Whispers drift through seemingly empty carriages. Doors creak open without warning, footsteps echo along the platform, and strange figures appear where nobody was standing moments before.
At first, you might convince yourself it's just your imagination.
But then you'll hear them.
The voices of those who travelled these lands long before you. Stories of betrayal, war, piracy, heartbreak and death begin to emerge from Purbeck's past.
Some spirits are searching for answers.
Some are searching for revenge.
And some are simply searching for their next victim.
You may find yourself accused of betraying Corfe Castle by Lady Mary Bankes, confronted by a soldier who still believes he is returning to the horrors of the trenches, or threatened with conscription into the crew of one of Purbeck's most notorious pirates.
And somewhere in the darkness, a heartbroken Victorian lady continues her endless search for the man who promised to return to Swanage but never came.
Listen carefully and you may hear her before you see her.
A voice in the darkness.
A movement at the end of the carriage.
The unmistakable feeling that somebody is standing behind you...
Every stop brings another encounter.
Every carriage hides another story.
Every shadow could be hiding something that has been waiting a very long time to meet you.
And just when you think you're safe, the whistle will sound again and your journey will continue deeper into the night.
So keep your friends close.
Don't wander away from the group.
Don't answer voices coming from empty platforms.
And if someone sits beside you...
Perhaps check that they're breathing.
Whatever you do...
Don't look behind you.
Because once the doors close and the train disappears into the darkness, there's no telling who — or what — might be travelling with you.
You bought a ticket for Steam & Screams.
But some of our passengers have been waiting centuries for theirs.
Welcome aboard.
Just remember... not every ticket is for the living.
