British Armed Forces and Veterans Weekend at Swanage: 30-31 May 2009

Military Band and parade of troops on Shore Road, Swanage in July 2005.
The Band will return on Saturday 30th May 2009 for the official reopening of Herston Halt's
rebuilt platform, following which hundreds of soldiers from 11th Signal Regiment
will exercise their right to march through Swanage with swords drawn and bayonets fixed.

Swanage & Herston 30 May 2009 schedule of events
12:15 Official Re-opening of Herston Halt - following its recent reconstruction by the team of Army volunteers led by Frank Roberts -
by the Commanding Officer of 11th Signal Regiment and the Mayor of Swanage.
Trains leave Norden and Swanage at 11:50. Piper & Trumpeters.
14:00 Onwards - Liberty Parade. 500 soldiers will be involved in the Parade. Swanage Football Club - Days Park - Shore Road (Ocean Bay) - Saluting Dias near Tourist information Centre - Institute Road - Kings Road East - Conservative Club - Railway Station - Rempstone Road - De-Moulham Road - Sandpit Field.
