Our Green timetable will be in operation on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th March 2012,
and is available for download together with our information leaflet below, or please see our
Timetable page to view and print a copy.
Swanage Railway Trust members may travel free on our trains all weekend on production of a valid membership card,
and there will be bargain train fares during the special weekend with unlimited travel
for a day between Norden Park & Ride and Swanage costing just £5 -
the under 5s riding for free - with trains running every 40 minutes between 10am and 6pm.
Planned attractions for visitors at Swanage, Harmans Cross, Corfe Castle & Norden are listed below.
At Swanage:
• Steam and diesel locomotive available for viewing.
• Visit the signal box (locking room excluded).
• Carriage & Wagon display at the goods shed.
• View the loco shed from the Viewing Area off Court Road.
• Bird's Nest Buffet open 09.30 - 16.30 daily.
• Shop open 09.30 - 16.40 daily.
• Bric-a-brac sales (Saturday only).
• Visit the Wessex Belle Lounge Car on platform 1 where the bar will be open. Check out the new 2012 livery!
• Paul McDonald from our Operations department will be signing copies of his new book 11.30 - 13.30 Saturday.
Herston Works:
• Herston Works is not open for viewing this year due to the nature of work currently
underway.
At Harmans Cross
• Station development display in new waiting room.
• Secondhand railway book & video sales, Sygnets youth group model railway display and light refreshments in the village hall.
• Meet our directors, managers and volunteers in the village hall. Learn about what we do and maybe consider joining us.
• Members-only Forum Saturday only at 15.00.
At Corfe Castle
• Visit our new award-winning signal box and locking room.
• Signal & Telegraph display in the down platform waiting shelter.
• Visit the Swanage Railway Museum in the restored goods shed.
• Sygnets 'B' van available for viewing.
• Bulleid heritage coach under restoration can be viewed on Saturday afternoon & Sunday.
• Carpentry team wagons available for viewing on Sunday.
At Norden
• Visit the Purbeck Mineral & Mining Museum foreman's office museum both days. Guided tours (Saturday only).
• Diesel-hauled brake van rides to Motala (members only).
• Norden Nest Buffet open 10.00 - 16.00 daily.
