One of the stars of the recent Swanage Railway Diesel Gala and associated Dorset Beer Festival was Class 50 No. 50 026 'Indomitable' as it hauled its first passenger trains in 22 years.
The diesel-electric locomotive was tested between Swanage, Corfe Castle and Norden Park & Ride during several days prior to the event and Swanage Railway official photographer and press officer Andrew P.M. Wright recorded the testing on Wednesday, 9 May, 2012.
Built in 1968, Class 50 No. 50026 'Indomitable' was rescued from a scrapyard in 1992 following its withdrawal by British Rail in 1990.
