Good progress is being made on the Swanage Railway's new Victorian-style signal box at Swanage station. The original built in 1884 was demolished by BR in the autumn of 1967 after being closed in June, 1967. The brand new signal box is located between the station and the road bridge.

The Purbeck stone base of the signal box was completed some months ago, and now the wooden cabin is almost complete allowing the signal frame to be installed by the Swanage Railway's volunteers. As work progresses we will bring you more information.
