On Friday 9th June 2000 the 12.50 Swanage to Norden train was double-headed by Southern Locomotives Ltd's ex-BR Standard Class 4 tanks No. 80078 of 1954 and No. 80104 of 1955 - the first time the pair have together hauled a regular timetabled passenger train on the Swanage Railway's relaid Purbeck Line. The crew of 80078 was driver Nigel Clark and fireman Peter Frost - both founder volunteers of the Swanage Railway in the early 1970s! The crew of 80104 were senior driver Mike Standhaft, driver Peter Pickering and fireman Dave Mitchell.
