Visitors will have noticed the significant changes being made to the signalling system at Swanage which involves the provision of a brand new signal box between the station and the road bridge.

The six week shutdown during January and February meant that much of the groundwork could be carried out whilst the railway was closed.

The Purbeck stone base of the signal box is now complete, and looks superb. The main floor joists have been laid in place and the wooden cabin has started to take shape. As work progresses we will bring you more information.
