Newly restored ex-BR Standard Class 4 Tank No. 80078 in full service

Southern Locomotives Ltd's newly restored ex-BR Standard Class 4 Tank No. 80078, originally built in 1954, had its first full day in operation hauling public timetabled trains on the Swanage Railway on Saturday 11th March 2000. The railway runs from Swanage to Norden park and ride, via Harman's Cross and Corfe Castle. The driver on the day was Brian Sequeira of Bournemouth and the fireman Peter Rand of Swanage.

These photographs were sent to us via email on Saturday 11th March 2000. Andrew P.M. Wright took advantage of a sunny early spring day to exercise his digital camera and ensure that we could share the delightful scenes on your favourite steam railway.
