"The Cathedrals Express" from London to Swanage on Friday 9th July 2010.

Another milestone was reached in
Purbeck on Friday 9th July 2010 when the Steam Dreams' railtour "The Cathedrals Express"
London to Swanage & return railtour
hauled by No. 30777 Sir Lamiel visited Swanage.

Francis Waddington and Peter Milfordhave supplied these photos taken during the journey to and from Swanage on 9th July.

In evening light, King Arthur Class No. 30777 Sir Lamiel, Class 47 245 and "The Cathedrals Express"
take the Romsey line to Laverstock, seen beside the River Test, and approaching Nursling, returning to
London from Swanage on Friday 9th July 2010.

The returning Cathedrals Express passes through Sway with 47245 heading No. 30777 Sir Lamiel.
47 245 piloted No. 30777 Sir Lamiel as far as the Goods Loop at Southampton - at that point
the two locos came off the train and ran round, rejoining with No. 30777 Sir Lamiel
leading 47 245 through Romsey and around the Laverstock triangle to return to
London on Friday 9th July 2010.

A few minutes after the returning Cathedrals Express from Swanage, 46115 Scots
Guardsman headed through Sway with the returning Dorset Coast Express from
Weymouth. Swanage Ops. Manager Mel Cox was on the footplate acting as route
pilot and took the regulator from Basingstoke back to London Waterloo on Friday 9th July 2010.
