The site is now prepared ready for track laying, with the location of the shed itself pegged out.
An appeal for funds to build the shed itself (estimated at £150k+) will be launched shortly.
The new carriage shed is vital to the future of the Swanage Railway in order to keep our historic rolling stock stored safe from inclement weather
when not in service on the railway.
