Black Five No. 44871 arrived on the Swanage Railway on 31st May hauling the Swanage Belle railtour from London to Swanage, and is now scheduled to run our service trains Tuesday 1st June to Thursday 3rd June.

PLUS We will be running No. 34028 Eddystone on Wednesday and Thursday this week instead of the scheduled DMU service, presenting an all-steam line-up reminiscent of the days of the old Somerset and Dorset workings.

Andrew P.M. Wright, the Swanage Railway's Press Officer and Official Photographer, has supplied several views of Black Five No. 44871 hauling our scheduled services today, Tuesday 1st june 2010.

No. 44871's driver is former BR fireman and driver at Bournemouth, Mike Standhaft.
