Approaching Worgret Junction and the main line to London,
Battle of Britain class Bulleid Pacific No 34067 Tangmere climbs up the
gradient from the River Frome bridge on Bank Holiday Monday, 4 May, 2009,
when a steam train ran from Swanage to London - for the first time since the summer of 1967.
Swanage Railway supporters and volunteers will be pleased to learn that Purbeck District Council
has approved funding of up to £100,000 for signalling and track design at Worgret Junction, near Wareham,
to make it suitable for a regular passenger service - vital for the long-term aim to
reconnect the Swanage Railway to the main line at Wareham.
