Following months of rebuilding work by a team of predominantly Army volunteers led by Frank Roberts,
the new platform at Herston Halt was officially reopened on Saturday 30th May 2009 by the Mayor of Swanage, Councillor Mike Pratt,
and Lt Col JAG Langley, the Commanding Officer of 11th Signal Regiment.
