Swanage Railway supporters Nathan Rodgers, Steven Whittingstall, Peter Milford and Dawn Cope have supplied several
photos showing Swanage Railway locomotives on their journey to Eastleigh 100 Centenary Open Weekend
celebrations on Friday 22nd May 2009.
The Swanage Railway locomotives were met at Motala by West Coast Railways class 37 number 37 706 to escort them on their journey to Eastleigh 100 Centenary Open Weekend

Swanage Railway supporters and enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that
as part of the Eastleigh 100 Centenary Open Weekend
event commemorating 100 years of the Eastleigh locomotive works, 23-25 May 2009,
there is planned to be an ITV Meridian live news
report at about 1800hrs on Friday 22nd May followed by BBC South Today live report at 1830hrs.
The follwing photos from Peter Milford show the convoy
arriving at and departing from Brockenhurst in the New Forest. Peter says, "The Swanage convoy passed Brockenhurst exactly on time - arriving at 13.39 and departing at 13.50.
West Coast Railways Class 37 - 37706 - headed the convoy driven by Swanage Deputy Ops Manager Mel Cox.
The diesel was followed by 34070 Manston, 34028 Eddystone, M7 No. 53 plus brake van and support coach."

The Swanage Railway will be in attendance at the event with locomotives and staff, and
ITV will be filming on the footplate of one of our Bulleid locomotives, and plans include a
demonstration move for the cameras.
The BBC report is planned to include film of No. 850 Lord Nelson with a Swanage Railway locomotive in the background.
The organisers of the Eastleigh 100 Centenary Open Weekend event are also planning a webstream of the event.
