At 8.45am on Wednesday April 1st 2009, under clear blue skies, the twelve-car special - 'The Purbeck Pioneer' hauled by a
DB Schenker Class 66 locomotive No 66152 - is ready to depart from London Victoria on schedule for its historic journey to Swanage.
Swanage Railway volunteers launch appeal for funds to help reinstate services to Wareham here.

when the first through service since 1972 visited Swanage.
