An evocative painting showing a Victorian M7 tank locomotive and its train running into a snow covered Corfe Castle station viewed from the
new footbridge is the Swanage Railway's fund-raising Christmas card for 2008.
And what a cracker it is too!
Reproduced from a delightful original watercolour by Hampshire artist Paul Barnes, the new festive card has been exclusively produced for the Swanage Railway.
The lead photo shows long-time Swanage Railway volunteer Moyra Cross, a keen volunteer in the station shop at Swanage, with packs of the new festive cards.
Moyra has been involved in the Swanage Railway since the very beginning and was an active campaigner with the Isle of
Purbeck Preservation Group - formed in 1969 to prevent the closure of the line -
after Moyra and her late husband Roger, also a Swanage Railway volunteer, moved from London down to Swanage in 1968.
Swanage Railway Christmas Card 2008, sold at only £3.25 for a pack of five to raise funds for the Swanage Railway.
Beautifully produced, the Christmas cards are only £3.25 for a pack of five.
They can be purchased at the Swanage Railway shop at Swanage station, they can be ordered by post and they can be ordered over the telephone by simply calling 01929 475204.
Postage and packing is ten per cent of the value or the order with the minimum being £2. Overseas postage rates are as agreed.
Cheques should be made payable to the Swanage Railway Company or you can buy by credit or debit card -
simply send your card details to Swanage Railway Company Retail, Station House Shop, Swanage, Dorset BH19 1HB.
A ten per cent discount off the price of the cards is available to members of the Swanage Railway Trust
