No 34028 Eddystone
Eddystone hauled the service train throughout Sunday, having returned to service on Saturday 9th February following work on its
superheater tubes at Swanage loco shed during the Swanage Railway's annual engineering shutdown period. (To
see a separate news item on Saturday's services work, please click here).
The driver seen on the footplate is volunteer Les Frampton from Wimborne who in the late 1980s worked on the trackbed clearing
gang before the tracks were relaid between Harman's Cross, Corfe Castle, Norden and Motala.

No 34028 Eddystone leaves Swanage station with a service train from Swanage to Norden park and ride via Harman's Cross and Corfe Castle on Sunday
10th February 2008. In the background can be seen the new signal on the approach to Swanage station.
Some of the photos also show the newly installed down home signal
post by the Swan Brook stream bridge and Swanage engine shed which was installed by Dave Cobb and his S&T team during the annual shutdown period.
The new post now sports signals for the main
and bay platform as well as a signal for the run-round loop at Swanage. These improvements were all carried out during the shutdown period, and
