Rebuilt West Country Class Bulleid Pacific
No 34028 Eddystone hauls the first service trains of 2008 on the Swanage Railway near Harman's Cross.
Andrew P.M. Wright has supplied over 20 superb photos of
the first day of steam train running on the SR after the six week
engineering shutdown at Swanage.
Andrew writes: All these photos were taken today, Saturday 9th February 2008, and feature rebuilt West
Country Bulleid Pacific Eddystone and the Swanage Railway's Class 33.
Rebuilt West Country Class Bulleid Pacific
No 34028 Eddystone hauls one of the first service trains of 2008 on the Swanage Railway near Harman's Cross.
Eddystone hauled the service train throughout Saturday, having returned to service following work on its
superheater tubes at Swanage loco shed during the Swanage Railway's annual engineering shutdown period. (To

Whilst Eddystone was at work with service trains, the Swanage Railway's historic Class 33 ran
light engine during the morning between Swanage and Norden park and ride in connection with
the passing out of a signalman at Harman's Cross.
