The Swanage Railway's annual autumn steam gala took place this year over the weekend of 7th - 9th September 2007.

Andrew P.M. Wright has supplied nearly 150 photos of this annual gala, which this year featured Swanage's resident LSWR Drummond M7 0-4-4 tank No. 30053, ex-BR Standard class 4MT No 80104 and GWR Collett 0-6-2 tank locomotive No. 6695. To see the full set of photos, please scroll down the page.

Visiting GWR Pannier Tank class 0-6-0 No. 7714, seen leaving picturesque Corfe Castle with a train for Norden from Swanage and Harman's Cross on 5th September 2007, was unfortunately unable to be in service during the gala weekend due to a cracked firebox.

Great Western Railway Pannier Tank class 0-6-0 steam locomotive No. 7714, on loan from the Severn Valley Railway, is seen arriving at Norden on the Swanage Railway on 4th September 2007, but

Due to a cracked firebox, visiting Great Western Railway Pannier Tank class 0-6-0 steam locomotive No. 7714, on loan from the Severn Valley Railway, was unable to be in service during the gala.

Andrew has also supplied several other photo sets taken over the gala weekend, including the Classic Vehicle Rally at Harman's Cross featuring many lovingly preserved vehicles including motorcycles, farming vehicles, agricultural engines, cars and vans. plus the historic first operation of a service on the Swanage Railway with an all female loco crew.
