Swanage Railway News Gallery - Page 38Visit to Swanage - 19th February 1999Photo report from Peter Milford of Sway - all photographs copyright P. MilfordPeter Milford was fortunate to be working in Dorset on Friday 19th February so took the opportunity to take a pleasant hour on the railway. He took a number of photographs using his Sony Mavica 71 digital camera and made them available later that day for use on the Swanage Railway website. Peter's camera writes the data directly to a floppy disk so transfer to his own computer and onward via email was very easy and very fast. Please note that these photographs remain Peter's copyright, and we are very grateful to be able to display them here. Peter has his own web area at: http://www.btinternet.com/~swayit/Steam where he has other photographs which you may like to see. Peter writes: "It was a dull day - but none the less evocative for that. It was nice to see people using the train for real travel - travelling back to Harman's Cross and Corfe Castle with bags of shopping from the supermarket in Swanage. It really gave the feel of a working railway in the community. Good to see it!"
