The luxurious railway carriage built at Brighton in 1947 – converted for use on the prestigious ‘Devon Belle’ express
train between London and north Devon during the days of steam – was unloaded from the transport ship which carried it
via the Panama Canal to Southampton on the morning of Monday, 26 February, 2007. CAr 14 then left on a low-loader transporter
to be overhauled for use on the Swanage Railway later this year.

Andrew's photos of the interior show the promise that Car 14 holds, but there is still a considerable amount
of effort and money needed before Car 14 can enter service on the Swanage Railway.
