Locomotive 6695 approaching Corfe Castle on the Swanage Railway 17th February, 2007.

Andrew P.M. Wright has supplied nearly 120 photos of late 1920s Armstrong Whitworth Newcastle-built GWR Taffy Tank No. 6695 during the current Thomas event at Swanage - both footplate shots and lineside shots. All these photos were taken on Saturday 17th February 2007.

GWR Taffy Tank No.6695 arrived at a fledgling Swanage Railway from the Barry scrapyard in South Wales in the summer of 1979. For more details of the rebuild and return to service. please see our dedicated pages by clicking here.

On the footplate with the crew of Locomotive 6695. The driver is Pete Frost of Corfe Castle (right) and the fireman is Bill Crutcher of Hordle near Lymington (left).

On the footplate run from Swanage to Norden and back, the driver is Pete Frost of Corfe Castle and the fireman is Bill Crutcher of Hordle near Lymington. The guard was John Stopher of New Milton.
