A unique opportunity to drive a powerful diesel locomotive on The Purbeck Line. To read the full Press Release, please click here.

During May 2006 Class 37 Locomotive number 37 324 'Clydebridge' will be visiting the Swanage Railway.

During its stay it will work passenger trains during the Railway's Rail Ale Festival Weekend (19th to 21st May) and will be available for Driving Experiences on 13th and 14th May.

This will provide a unique opportunity to drive one of these powerful locomotives on the Swanage Railway.

Each participant will have the opportunity to drive a complete round trip on the line and to ride on the train throughout the day - with opportunities to see the work of the guard and signalman.

The price for each participant for a full day will be £180.
