Class 33 loco No. 108 at Corfe Castle on 10th May 2005
Andrew P.M. Wright has sent us these photos of the new push-pull fitted Class 33 loco No. 108 sporting its summer of 1967 blue and yellow BR livery.
The loco used to work the Bournemouth to Weymouth line between 1967 and 1988 when the line was electrified and replaced with Wessex Electrics.
It also worked down to Swanage between 1967 and October, 1969, when the last timetabled through London train left Swanage. It may also have
travelled down to Swanage between 1969 and the end of the summer of 1971 on ramblers' specials.
33108 at Swanage on 10th May
33 108 arrived at its new home on the Swanage Railway via the Norden station road/rail interchange on the morning of Tuesday, 10th May, 2005 -
and was put into traffic just an hour or so after arriving.
It worked the planned Class 71A Group driver experience trains for the rest of the day; the new 33 being substituted for the planned Class 33
haulage of Stan Symes (which is owned by the 71A Group).
