Andrew P.M. Wright has provided us with this page of photos taken
at Swanage on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th January 2004 of West Country
Class 34028 Eddystone.
Normal public services on the Swanage Railway are suspended for the annual shutdown and maintenance period
until they resume on 14th February with the next Thomas event allowing proving trials on the newly rebuilt
Eddystone to continue without disruption to public services.
The restoration of Eddystone was originally started at Sellinge but moved to Swanage in
November 1999. Steady progress has been made since then thanks to the efforts of the dedicated teams of volunteers, culminating in the passing of the steam test
on 24th July. To see photos of this milestone event please click here.
