At this year's world famous Great Dorset Steam Fair at
Tarrant Hinton in Dorset the Swanage Railway's
6695 Group displayed the boiler from
their ex-GWR locomotive which is currently under restoration at Herston works
on the Swanage Railway. Number 6695 was originally built by Armstrong Witworth & Co in 1928.
The Group hope to have the locomotive back in action at Swanage at the end of next year.
This excellent set of photograps from Andrew P.M. Wright shows 6695's boiler as the
centre of attention in the Heavy Haulage ring. Andrew reports that it took over half an hour to get
the dust out of his camera after taking these shots for us.

at the Steam Fair, see this separate news item.
