Andrew P.M. Wright, the Swanage railway
Official Photographer & Press Officer,
has sent us this photo report of a recent photographic charter on the Swanage Railway.
The photos show Southern Locomotives Ltd's
unrebuilt Battle of Britain Bulleid Pacific No 34072 257 Squadron on the Swanage
Railway's Purbeck Line during a special photographic charter on Monday 11th March, 2002.
The loco hauled three coaches and an SR van over the picturesque line, passing the ruins
of the historic Corfe Castle.
The day included a night shoot at Corfe Castle when 257 Squadron was right line at
Corfe Castle - i.e. coming in from the Wareham direction on the 'down' line.
There are also day shots of '257 Squadron' coming into Corfe Castle from the
Wareham direction on the 'down' line.
All photographs are copyright Andrew P.M. Wright.
