Swanage Railway volunteers visit EastleighThere's more to working on the Swanage Railway than driving trains or collecting tickets! The Swanage Railway thrives as a busy seaside railway. It relies on its mainly volunteer workforce to enable it to operate one of the most intensive private railway services in Britain. On this page you will find numerous photos of the Swanage Railway's volunteer workforce in action, provided by Andrew P.M. Wright, the Swanage Railway's Press Officer and official photographer. You will see from the photos that there is an immense range of activity needed to keep our railway operating. Please visit our dedicated Swanage Railway Volunteering and Jobs Page here for more information, and please visit the Swanage Railway Trust's dedicated Volunteering page here where you will find numerous illustrated leaflets on becoming a volunteer in around 20 different areas of work, available to download in PDF format suitable for printing.
