Driver Paul McDonald of Swanage (a BR Bournemouth cleaner and fireman in the 1950s and 1960s) and fireman Graham Froud of Corfe Castle.1960s BR booking clerk Bryan Green with the first ticket for the first passenger to take a train from Swanage to Corfe Castle under the new signalling arrangements at Corfe.1950s and 1960s BR Swanage signalmen Bob Inman (brown pullover) and Jimmy Hunt (blue jumper) in Swanage signalbox for the first time. The SR signalman is Mike Banks. Jimmy and Bob watched the first tablet taken out from the original Swanage tablet machine and pulled the levers before the first tablet was given to the 9.50 am train from Swanage to Corfe Castle.The last BR Corfe Castle signalman Bob Richards and Swanage Railway early volunteer and now driver Pete Frost together in Corfe Castle signal box for the first time since the last BR train on the night of 1st January, 1972. |
